Carignan, Quebec (Canada), October 17, 2024 – CLAYSON ECOMINERAL (“CLAYSON”) is pleased to announce that it has received authorization to proceed with diamond drilling on its St-Damase deposit in the Matapedia RCM, in accordance with section 69 of the Mining Act (RLRQ, chapter M-13.1).
The authorization for impact exploration work is valid for a period of two years, until October 14, 2026.
The request was made following consultation with the landowners, who gave their authorization and support to the work. Clayson considers the social acceptability of its project in this area to be a high priority.
“Following tests conducted at the Université de Sherbrooke’s concrete evaluation laboratory, which demonstrated the commercial potential of the clays in the St-Damase deposit, the application and granting of the drilling permit demonstrate our clear intention to complete the work required to confirm the volumes identified by INRS in 2010,” said Dr. Joël Fournier, President of Clayson.
This step is an important milestone in the completion of the necessary technical studies leading to a project to produce calcined clay as a product used in the manufacture of low-carbon concrete.
Clayson would like to thank the elected representatives and citizens of the area for their welcome and support from the outset of this ambitious project.
